40 Amp relay provides direct battery power connection for H11 single HID or LED bulb kits. It is intended for vehicles with low or high beam daytime running lights (DRL) needing full power instead of low voltage DRL power.

SPECIFICATIONS:

  • AWG 9 - red battery "+" wire
  • AWG 10 - all other wires
  • Wire type: copper
  • Wire diameter: 2.6mm
  • Relay head: 40Amp
  • Fuse: 30Amp
  • Trigger is an H11 plug-n-play connector which connects to the vehicle's OE H11 headlight power plug
  • Relay output are 2pcs of oval 9005/9006/9012/H10 connectors which connect to HID ballasts
  • Single lead with a fuse connects to a battery (+)
  • Chassis ground (-) wires are on output connectors

NOTE:
There are 2 types of flickering which may affect HIDs and LEDs.

  1. The first is an HID flicker caused by lack of power to HID ballasts. Any voltage below 12V will cause the igniter in the ballast to turn on/off in its attempts to ignite the HID bulb. To resolve this type of flicker, install the relay. The relay will supply full voltage to the ballast directly from the battery and the igniter in the ballast will be able to turn on the HID bulb.
  2. The second type of flickering is one caused by pulse width modulation (PWM) and daytime running lights (DRL). If this is the type of flickering you're experiencing then the relay alone will not be enough to get rid of the flicker. To stop the PWM and DRL flickering, you will need to add a plug-n-play capacitor or decoder just before the relay trigger plug. The minimum voltage for most LED kits to turn ON is 8V. However, there are some LED kits specifically designed to work at 6V. The minimum voltage for HID kits is 12V.
