H7

H7 bulbs are commonly used in German and Japanese vehicles, such as Mazda, Subaru, VW, and BMW. These manufacturers seem to have created their own proprietary way to secure the H7 bulbs in the headlights, and that is why when upgrading from H7 halogen to H7 LED, the bulbs may require lock base adapters. The function of the lock base adapters is to securely hold H7 LED bulbs in the headlights. These adapters are vehicle specific, and there may be 2 or more adapters that can fit a particular vehicle make, so please check your vehicle and see how the bulbs are held in place before purchasing lock base adapters. Alternatively, manufacturers of LED bulbs created 1:1 fitting LED bulbs (E4X, K1) which do not require the use of the adapters. This change however, came with a cost of lowering the brightness, because external LED drivers and cooling fans could not be used. That said, we do have one LED series, an H7 i7 1:1 LED bulb that still uses a cooling fan, but it is located at the tip of the LED bulb.

If the H7 halogen bulbs are held in the headlight with a simple wire clip then you can use any of the LED kits on this page, except the G1 Series. The only other thing to check is the space available under the dust cap which has to accommodate the large fan size on some of the LED bulbs.
