HEADLIGHTS FLICKER AFTER LED UPGRADE
So what causes LEDs to flicker? In almost all cases, installing LEDs in low voltage daytime running lights or lights that use pulse-width-modulation (PWM), LEDs will flicker. The flickering is causes by a rapid series of on/off cycles in the headlight's electrical system. Halogen bulbs, due to their filament design, do not cool off fast enough to register the on/off cycles. LEDs on the other hand are very quick in registering any voltage fluctuation such as the on/off cycles, causing them to flicker.
How do we stop LEDs from flickering? Plug-n-play canbus anti-flicker modules fix this problem. How? By using two large capacitors which level the voltage fluctuations. The steady level of power supply to the LED bulb eliminates flickering. These modules are bulb specific, so when selecting the appropriate one, make sure it matches the installed bulb. For example, a 9005 high beam/DRL bulb will need a 9005 module.
