Are HIDs brighter than LEDs? The Answer is ...

Well, recently we had a customer who really wanted to know. So, we compared 55W and 75W HID kits to three of the brightest LED series, X20, H55, and F3S Pro. Here is what we found:

55W HID vs 55W X20 LED -> 1971 LUX HID and 1309 LUX LED -> The WINNER is the 55W HID kit

55W HID vs 55W H55 LED -> 1971 LUX HID and 1468 LUX LED-> The WINNER is the 55W HID kit

75W HID vs 60W F3S Pro LED -> 2013 LUX and 5048 LUX -> The WINNER is the 60W LED kit

So, to answer the ever perplexing question, which one is brighter, one has to say, it depends on the LED kit selected. Some LED kits will be less bright, while others, like the F3S Pro, will be 2.5x brighter than 55W & 75W HIDs.
